2nd North-East Anarchist Consulta

The 2nd North-East Anarchist Consulta is being held this coming weekend at Umass Amherst in order to organize, strategize, start confronting the issues of oppression and priviledge in our movement, and to prepare for a massive Week of Resistance this May in defense of migrant workers' rights and in opposition to the Biotech Convention [coming to Boston 6-9 May]
This weekend Amherst will be the site of the 2nd N.E. Anarchist Consulta. The first Consulta which was held in Boston in February was a great start, but we still have lots of work to do to realize our goal of an effective network/federation of dedicated anarchists and activists. We, the organizers hope that you and your group, collective, posse, etc can all make it out.

The Consulta will be held at the Umass Amherst Student Union Ballroom on Saturday April 7th from 10am to 6pm, with optional nightly events, and it will then continue on Sunday from 10am to 6pm. There will be housing, childcare, and vegan/vegetarian food provided, but please contact us ahead of time to let us know you're coming/how many people you have with you/any allergies you might have to food/how cool you think this is, etc.

For Housing please contact Dan at dakeefe (at) vassar.edu
For Childcare contact Lydia at lydiausestheinternet (at) gmail.com
Any questions about food, contact Shaina at sufferingstar (at) yahoo.com
You can contact us at neanarchistconsulta (at) riseup.net for any general questions, directions, or a copy of our proposed agenda.

You can use these maps to help guide you on your journey! www.umass.edu/visitorsctr/Campus_Map/

Quote-of-the-Moment

I say we take the oil. I don't think people realize the super-crisis mode the North Country is in. When you talk about the cost of fuel oil and how it hits a family, our average family income is half what it is down in southern New Hampshire.
-- Republican Sen. John Gallus on 'controversy' of accepting oil assistance for low income people from Citgo and the socialist government of Venezuela.
