I say we take the oil. I don't think people realize the super-crisis mode the North Country is in. When you talk about the cost of fuel oil and how it hits a family, our average family income is half what it is down in southern New Hampshire.

Who is Vermin Supreme?
10 Nov 2007
Vermin Supreme Promises:
To do something about the weather... "Too damn hot in the summer... too damn cold in the winter." Possibilities understudy include: a.) a weather dome over the entire city for climate control. b.) the physical relocation of the entire city to a more hospitable climate or c.) simply throwin' out anyone who complains.
Since individual liberties can be counterproductive to a smooth running corporate climate, and since police represent law and order, martial law will be imposed upon election (or coup d'etat, whichever comes first.)
To make crime against the law! combat illiterates! Fight the unemployed! And stop pregnant teenagers! These statistics can easily be lowered by manipulating the figures upon which they are based.
Polygraph, drug tests and loyalty oaths for all citizens, along with the issuance of citizen identity cards, radio transmitter implants and laser fingerprint tattoos to keep track of you and your children, for your protection. Remember, no one's a criminal until we say you are.
To utilize the powers the powers of the eminent domain. To demolish some of the more tasteless structures in town. Require vinyl siding on historical landmarks preserving our cultural heritage for future generations of tourists to come.
Making dangerous weapons available to anyone who wants them in order to help facilitate the formation of a government-sponsored vigilante death squad, lynch mob militia to help take the law back to our own hands. To help in the selected elimination of certain anarchists, communists, street scum and other trouble-makers to be defined at whim and subject to change without warning.
Massive and arbitrary censorship of anything found offensive by an appointed truth and morality squad. Severe restriction of information that could be harmful to you or your children, because as we all know, what you don't know can't hurt you.
To make the homeless disappear. Poof! As if by magic, presto chango. Out of sight, out of mind. Where did they go? Oh, well, you don't really want to know now do you? Nope. Not really. I didn't think so.
To achieve nuclear capability for our little town taking more guff from neighboring municipalities over contaminating "their" ground water and other such "sour grapes".
Placement of lots of little toxic biochemical, hazardous and/or nuclear waste dumps in your backyards. We must all share in the burden of disposal.
Legalization of prostitution and gambling along with the promotion of professional sports, video arcades, and crack houses together with other mindless forms of diversion to help you take your mind off what's really going on.
Vermin Supreme also promises:
To appoint lots of committees to look into all sorts of things.
To tax the bejeezus out of everything.
To pave over everything that has not been paved over yet.
Legislation to make teeth brushing after every meal mandatory.
Free pizza and beer for everybody.
Support the Supreme candidate! Free ponies for all!

We need integrity back in the White House and Vermin stands for integrity. Unlike Barak Obama, Vermin is not afraid to tell the media that sometimes, he wears a fake ass.

Aww, did someone make a founded accusations
06 Dec 2007
His comments against the Civil Rights Act alone are damning enough for most people to get the drift that this guy either:
1. Has serious problems comprehending the history of race and racism and is therefore unfit to be president of a country where these are critical political issues;
or
2. This guy is another closet racist, and like Pat Buchanan he likes to clothe his racism in libertarian dressing.
Re: Ron Paul is an old timey racist, sexist, homophobe
06 Dec 2007
The collectivist mindset is at the heart of racism.
Government as an institution is particularly ill-suited to combat bigotry. Bigotry at its essence is a problem of the heart, and we cannot change people's hearts by passing more laws and regulations.
It is the federal government that most divides us by race, class, religion, and gender. Through its taxes, restrictive regulations, corporate subsidies, racial set-asides, and welfare programs, government plays far too large a role in determining who succeeds and who fails. Government "benevolence" crowds out genuine goodwill by institutionalizing group thinking, thus making each group suspicious that others are receiving more of the government loot. This leads to resentment and hostility among us.
Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than as individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism.
The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims. Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence - not skin color, gender, or ethnicity.
In a free society, every citizen gains a sense of himself as an individual, rather than developing a group or victim mentality. This leads to a sense of individual responsibility and personal pride, making skin color irrelevant. Racism will endure until we stop thinking in terms of groups and begin thinking in terms of individual liberty.
Racism is not a mere misunderstanding of the heart

Combatting racism does not mean getting black people and white people together to sing a chorus of Kumbaya led by Ron Paul.

Globe busts Mitt Romney again for using illegal immigrants to do lawn work
04 Dec 2007
By Maria Cramer and Maria Sacchetti, Globe Staff; and Connie Paige, Globe Correspondent
Standing on stage at a Republican debate on the Gulf Coast of Florida last week, Mitt Romney repeatedly lashed out at rival Rudy Giuliani for providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants in New York City.
Yet, the very next morning, on Thursday, at least two illegal immigrants stepped out of a hulking maroon pickup truck in the driveway of Romney's Belmont house, then proceeded to spend several hours raking leaves, clearing debris from Romney's tennis court, and loading the refuse back on to the truck.
In fact, their work was part of a regular pattern. Despite a Globe story in Dec. 2006 that highlighted Romney's use of illegal immigrants to tend to his lawn, Romney continued to employ the same landscaping company – until today. The landscaping company, in turn, continued to employ illegal immigrants.

Paul, Putin win at the polls
06 Dec 2007
With over 300 votes cast in the last 24 hours, Ron Paul jumped from polling behind Kucinich at 15 percent to garnering 79.8 percent of the votes in NH IMC's NH primary poll. This makes his success even greater than that of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who recently polled 64 percent in the disputed Russian elections but garnered no votes in the recent NH IMC poll.
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe [OSCE] chose to withdraw inspections from the NH IMC poll after Ron Paul supporters from outside districts, such as Digg.com, began stuffing ballots for the Texas Congressman.
Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, on a diplomatic tour of Russia, declined to comment on the issue. But earlier today, a spokesman for the State Department expressed "grave concerns" over the NH IMC poll.
"NH IMC must include Ron Paul in all its future polls in order for the international community to accept them as legitimate," the spokesman said.
The spokesman reiterated calls by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier for a 'Ron Paul' option in all future polls.
At a news conference in Berlin, Steinmeier told reporters, "If NH IMC intends to poll its readers on who they want for NH's next senator, there must be a 'Ron Paul option. If NH IMC intends to poll its readers on their favorite musician to come out of NH, then we expect to see Ron Paul's name listed alongside the likes of G.G. Allen. For that matter, if NH IMC intends to ask its readers whose self-immolation during concerts through rolling around in glass and inserting microphones rectally provides a deeper experience of the grotesque, Germany expects Ron Paul's name alongside G.G. Allen's. We simply cannot consider these polls free and fair otherwise."
The German foreign minister has called on NH IMC to release opposition activist Gary Kasparov, who was imprisoned over the weekend. There is no word yet of the former chess champion's release.

ron paul's introduced legislation
06 Dec 2007
The Times story noted that "every year since [Roe v. Wade], members of Congress have introduced a bill to [define human life as beginning with conception], but they never got anywhere." On several occasions, that member of Congress was none other than Dr. Ron Paul.
Paul's proposed a number of court-stripping measures, shutting the courthouse door to discrimination suits based on sexual discrimination; he's tried to prohibit the government from mandating a minimum wage; he's tried to repeal the Davis-Bacon Act, which guarantees that workers on federal projects be paid a prevailing wage, and the Copeland Act, which bars kick-backs on federal projects; he has proposed freezing Social Security benefit levels and making the program fully optional, which would effectively destroy it; he has opposed measures that promote more voter participation; he would repeal key parts of American anti-trust law, gutting it; he's tried to deauthorize most federal agencies' regulatory powers; he's tried to eliminate all affirmative action programs; he's proposed altering the 14th Amendment to prohibit the children of immigrants from gaining citizenship; he's proposed eliminating or gutting a variety of environmental legislation; he's tried to kill the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty and submitted legislation that would pull the United States out of the United Nations 12 different times; he has tried to eradicate the Department of Education, offered legislation to end federal involvement in educating kids; and he has proposed, at various times, the abolition of most taxes on wealth as well as income and the establishment of a flat tax. All of this is legislation that he not only supported, but proposed or co-sponsored.
I kind of like Ron Paul supporters
07 Dec 2007
Ron Paul supporters on the other hand are rich-greedy-trust-fund-babies who know where their interests lie and they are willing to defend them by supporting a candidate who supports absolute economic freedom; “screw those who suffer, we want to get richer.”

This leaves 48.7%, who want Dr. Paul to lead the nation in abolishing the IRS, the FED, the DHS, and our totalitarian regime that now envelopes every corner of the megabeaurocracy (this used to be called 'The Military-Industrial Complex', children!)that we call 'government'.

A simpler explanation than all these conspiracy theories about polling
09 Dec 2007
The real "IMC Polling," as opposed to nhindymedia, probably left Ron Paul out because they're not worried about him. This was probably a poll conducted by Romney or Giuliani's campaign in order to find out how the other is doing. Since neither is worried about Ron Paul, (and let's be honest, Ron Paul would NEVER get the nomination of the Republican Party,) they didn't see the need to include him. They also left out the other wing candidates they are not worried about, like Alan "1 percent on a good day" Keyes.
