Thanks, Rob

It's nice to have pictures to accompanying this article.

The thumbnail also looks good. Getting more photo thumbnails on the front page is something we should try to remember to do. We have let it get a bit too text heavy in recent months.

Is Google stalking me?

I went to Google News and saw this photo of the Portland, ME demonstration from the Portsmouth Herald on the top of the page:

How did Google know to load a local picture? I am now scared of teh internets.

Also, True Stories of Dancing_Machine:

Once I was at a demonstration where people were chanting, "Drop Bush Not Bombs". This caused an old woman next me to complain to her friend, "That's so violent!"

Why do all you peace activists use the gay flag?

Last I remembered, lots of gays and lesbians were mad that they couldn't be Out and in the military. Using their flag just perpetuates the stereotype that gays and lesbians are weak.

No pride in war

There is a small but growing movement of radical queers among us gay/lesbians and our other queer friends who don't want or care about gays serving openly in the military, because we don't want the military. We don't want to participate in the system, we don't want the system because it's broken beyond repair. And to be honest, it never worked. As for gays and lesbians being weak check these folks out: www.pinkpistols.org

I wouldn't get into a fight with them.

Re: No pride in war

this is just the kind of movement we should fear. it's an oppressed group coming together around symbols of power and responding with violence.. history has shown this is how all facist groups start.

With respect, anonymous, it is not a gay flag. It is a Buddhist flag. G. Oleson

Quote-of-the-Moment

I say we take the oil. I don't think people realize the super-crisis mode the North Country is in. When you talk about the cost of fuel oil and how it hits a family, our average family income is half what it is down in southern New Hampshire.
-- Republican Sen. John Gallus on 'controversy' of accepting oil assistance for low income people from Citgo and the socialist government of Venezuela.
