NH public school teachers are also lousy

Coincidence? I don't advocate for public education. It just makes sense that if you offer lousy pay you won't attract the cream of the crop.

re: NH teachers are also lousy

What makes them lousy?

my NH public school education did not prepare me for college

Our teachers were mostly just unenthusiastic disciplinarians. Though I was considered an excellent student in high school, when I arrived at college I was still ahead of the other in-state students, but far behind the out-of-state students, including the ones that went to public school. They had covered far more material than we NH students had.

to destroying nonsectarian education.

If nonsectarian schools are what the market dictates...

... then I will accept people's decision to educate their children as they see fit, even if it means religious education.

Bait.

I don't get it. Libertarians talk about how people should be free, but then talks about what the market dictates. Just sayin'.

Quote-of-the-Moment

I say we take the oil. I don't think people realize the super-crisis mode the North Country is in. When you talk about the cost of fuel oil and how it hits a family, our average family income is half what it is down in southern New Hampshire.
-- Republican Sen. John Gallus on 'controversy' of accepting oil assistance for low income people from Citgo and the socialist government of Venezuela.
