Ken Gagnon. I've known him most of my life. Yes. He's tasteless. More tasteless than any person I've ever known. His sense of humor crosses the line. He has said some awful things. Things that probably shouldn't have been said. Ken is not a rapist. Ken is not abusive, physically or otherwise, nor does he ever intend to enter the dining hall with a sawed off shot gun and oblitorate the UNH student body. Perhaps, it is only because I know him that I know this. Perhaps that is why I find it so thoroughly unfair that instead of bringing issues directly to Kenny, they were thrown to the public as a warning to fear and loathe a harmless man. I understand your contempt for him. I appreciate your concern and your anger. I am sad to see a talent like his forced out of classes, fired from his job and ostricized from an entire community because of hurt feelings.
Ken makes very bad jokes. I am a woman. Sometimes I am offended. I tell him. He apologizes.
Ken Gagnon has a soul. I hope, through all of this, you do not forget that one thing.
