Update

Rochester, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Senator John McCain will be greeted by anti-war activists when the "Straight Talk Express" rolls up to the Rochester Opera House on Tuesday, July 22 for a town hall meeting. The demonstrators want to make sure McCain listens to what the majority of Americans want – a speedy and responsible end to the war in Iraq.

We are gathering at 9:30 am in front of the Rochester Opera House. Please come and bring your banners and energy. To date, it does not look like there will be a "free speech zone."

10:30 AM: Doors open at Rochester Town Hall, Rochester, NH. RSVP here:

*Parking in Rochester*

At this point, there is no indication of a free speech zone. We need to remain off the sidewalks and be respectful to passersby. The municipal lot will likely be full; good prospects for additional parking are located in the following areas:

Columbus Ave – all day parking

Union Street parking lot – between Union & Wakefield

Across street from closed 103 restaurant at 103 N. Main Street – short walk back

Quote-of-the-Moment

I say we take the oil. I don't think people realize the super-crisis mode the North Country is in. When you talk about the cost of fuel oil and how it hits a family, our average family income is half what it is down in southern New Hampshire.
-- Republican Sen. John Gallus on 'controversy' of accepting oil assistance for low income people from Citgo and the socialist government of Venezuela.
